T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G owners will have been watching with envy as their phone’s international cousin was updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich a couple of months ago. But now it seems the wait may finally be at an end, with T-Mobile announcing in its official support documentation that the Sensation’s ICS update will be arriving this Wednesday, May 16.

HTC Corp promised competitive new models early next year and said it would stick to its strategy in the face of its biggest challenge since rising to prominence in the smartphone market.
HTC has become the worst performer among global smartphone shares this year, falling over 30 percent in the last eight sessions alone, as investors worried it may have lost the innovative touch that propelled it from contract maker to must-have brand in only a few years.
Those concerns heightened last week when HTC surprisingly cut its revenue forecast for the fourth quarter to no growth, shocking a market used to double-digit growth rates from the maker of the Desire, Sensation and Wildfire models.
Cincinnati Bell customers who have had their eye on the HTC Sensation will be happy to know it’s now available for $249.99 with a 2-year contract or $449.99 without. Both prices are after a $50 mail-in rebate.
As a quick reminder, the specs include:
- 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) screen
- 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm CPU
- 1080 p HD video playback
- dual LED flash
- Sense UI 3.0
- 1.2 MP front-facing camera
- 8 MP rear facing camera
T-Mobile announced the HTC Sensation 4G in April and tonight revealed that the HTC Sensation 4G will be coming on 15 June in stores for the typical $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate.
The HTC Sensation 4G is also expected to be available as early as June 12 at select Wal-Mart locations. I really do not need another phone on T-Mobile, but the Sensation 4G looks sweet and I doubt I will be able to resist this Gingerbread-toting Android smartphone with 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 4.3 inch 540×960 pixels resolution display. Shoot, just ring it up and put it in the bag.
