The two HTC heavyweights are here – EVO 4G LTE and One X. The One X appears to be the best smartphone from the Taiwanese mobile giant, but the specs of EVO 4G LTE strongly poses a challenge.

AT&T is currently offering One X for $199 on 2-year contract, while Sprint’s EVO 4G LTE is hitting stores on May 18 with the same price tag.

Both the HTC smartphones looks identical and boast almost same specs. Which $199 smartphone is better? Let’s find out.

Sprint’s HTC Evo 4G LTE: First impressions

Well, well, what do we have here? It’s Sprint’s new HTC Evo 4G LTE phone, set to launch next Friday, May 18, for $200 (on contract).

I got my hands on the new Evo a short time ago and have been spending some time getting to know the device. Here are my initial impressions:

Boost Mobile To Offer 4G Service With HTC EVO Design 4G Smartphone

Boost Mobile announced its first 4G smartphone in the form of the HTC EVO Design 4G. This phone connects to Sprint’s 3G and 4G WiMAX networks and offers 4G service in 71 markets across the country. While connected to WiMAX, customers can expect average upload speeds between 3-6 Mbps. The EVO Design 4G is the first smartphone in Boost Mobile’s lineup to offer 4G speeds along with the carrier’s no-contract $55 per month unlimited plan with Shrinking Payments. The HTC EVO Design 4G will be available on May 31 for $299.99. The phone features a 1.2GHz processor, 4-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display, Android 4.0 and HTC Sense, and a 5MP rear-facing camera. Although Boost Mobile’s data plan is unlimited, later this year the carrier plans to throttle users to speeds of 256kbps when data usage exceeds 2.5GB in a month.

Sprint To Receive The HTC Evo View 4G Tablet on June 24th

Looks like Sprint is gearing up to release the HTC Evo View 4G, a Flyer variant that will work with Sprint’s WiMax service.  The ad above reveals a June 24th release date as projected by Sprint themselves.  The device is a 7-inch 1.5 GHz device touting HTC’s new scribe pen feature.  It will also sport HTC’s Sense UI and be heavily integrated with Evernote.

Gingerbread for the EVO available June 3rd
